Snowbanks that is. When 3 feet of snow has fallen and we're bound to get more, the road crews get out in full force pushing the snow further off the roadways. The fire hydrants get completely buried and the front end loaders go around and rescue them.
Nice photo. What a lot of snow!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Andrea! Thanks for participating in Ruby Tuesday! :)
ReplyDeletethat makes me miss boston! :)
ReplyDeleteBonsoir Andrea,
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect subject for Ruby Tuesday. What can be more Red than the firemen equipment ?
In the other end, I wonder why do they put a fire hydrants on the roadways ? Is it for forest fires in summer time ?
So much snow ! and we get so few ! ; )
Red is red, and this fire hydrant works beautifully. And it is nice to see that the hydrant was cleared enough for fire dept. access. Happy Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI've always found those fire hydrants so cheerful and cute, but I guess the colour's there for a reason too, huh. Our firehydrants in Sweden don't look anything like this, but yes the snow now and then does...
ReplyDeleteA little red sentry in the snow!
ReplyDeleteWish there is also a snow here in Philippines. Nice shot. Please check out my RT first entry. Thank you
ReplyDeleteOh wow! 3 feet of snow. i'm trying to imagine that. I live n a tropical island where it is summer all year round. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shot, and so appropriate.
ReplyDeleteShots like these (and the many I receive each winter from all my New England relatives) remind me why I like winters in Tel Aviv! I don't even own a pair of gloves or a wool hat anymore, let alone a winter coat :-). Still, your glorious summers go a long way towards making up for the winter.
ReplyDeletePS Pen holder is still on top of the fridge. I should probably just concede defeat and bring it down though, before something/someone gets broken!
A lot of snow. I'm amazed they can find the fire hydrants after plowing. Very nice shot. I like it.

and here I am complaining about a couple of inches!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photo
Hi!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that they rescue all the fire hydrants. Great shot! We had 8 inches of snow last week and it's snowing again today! Have a great day!!

All the fire plugs in my town are yellow. There's a blue reflector impaled to the road in front of each of them so the firemen can find them at night.

Oh boy, what fun the snow can be. I guess it's not all about looking at the pretty white stuff...you have to deal with the delays it causes:(
ReplyDeleteYou got a yard of snow! That is a LOT! We are lucky to get 1" to 2" if we get any snow during the year. We live in Texas. I noticed in Arkansas last year their fire hydrants are bright blue, so they can be found in all the foliage in the fall. I thought that interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt shows up good against the snow! There is one across the street from me and I had never thought of taking a picture of it for Ruby Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for all the wonderful feedback. I've found out some very interesting tidbits with this post. A~
