Ruby Tuesday : Black Locust Tree pods

On our walk this morning I noticed the Black Locust had beautiful red pods .
An event I've never noticed before.
The pods are said to be toxic.
They hang on through the summer & winter months and then pop open come spring.

  2. Hi!
We have locust trees here, but never paid any attention. I'll have to see if they have some pods on them. Have a great day!!

  3. Wow, I never knew they were red either. We have a forest of really huge red locusts and I only see them when the fall to the ground already brown.

  4. Not a plant I know, but despite being toxic, those pods have a beauty. Quite stunning.
